With baby, comes what seems like a limitless amount of baby gear and toys. Storage and baskets for organization are often times overlooked when we work on our baby registries, but making a plan for the toys ahead of time will save you frustration in the months to come. Motherhood changes everything, including the smells in your house. Tiny feet and little faces are undeniably precious but they can also be a little stinky + sticky. Like most of you, I’ve become really particular about the products I bring into our house. I love a good smelling room as much as the next momma, but I’m wary of fragrances made up of ingredients I can’t pronounce.

After some crazy anxiety and stress over the past few months, my brother gifted me a diffuser and some essential oils for Christmas. I was not sure how I would like them, but much to my surprise they have been awesome.

Feeling overwhelmed from the chaos of toys? After doing a little reading on different methods, I decided that a toy rotation system would be perfect for our family. I spent nap time this afternoon setting up the system and I am already feeling so much better more organized. Between pre-packing lunch boxes to getting dinner on the table for the four of us, I feel like I’m running out to the grocery store once a day. But with Isla still in diapers and Brody starting preschool, a run to the corner market doesn’t cut it anymore! Today I’m sharing tips on how I’m saving time on my grocery shopping.

One of the first pieces of moving advice I received was to make sure we set-up the kid’s rooms first. Making them feel at home would help ease the transition. After a few weeks in our new home, I could not agree more.  

Isla’s nursery was one of my favorites spaces in our home in Arizona. The morning light filtered in her room magically. The space felt so calming and fresh. Most days it was the only room in our home where I was not tripping on toys.

Our living room is the heart of our home—it’s where Brody and Isla play, where JD and I cuddle up and watch cheesy tv shows and where we all hangout when guests are over. With as much use as the room gets, it has somehow remained a collection of hand-me-downs, thrift store finds, DIY projects etc. Last year, we refreshed Brody’s room, created a little master bedroom sanctuary for ourselves, and gave Isla an adorable nursery, yet somehow our living room--the room we spend the most time in, had yet to feel homey.
