We’re Doing Something Crazy!
After our whirlwind trip to Greece and Turkey this past Summer, JD and I were left feeling like we could have stayed there for weeks longer and explored. Our usual travel style is packing in as many places and sites as we can squeeze into a short amount of time.
But we’ve been curious about trying a more leisurely style of travel—one where we could immerse ourselves more into a new culture, pick up some of the language, visit our favorite food discoveries more than once, and heck maybe even make a local friend of two.
Sooo….this summer, we’re doing it! We’re moving to Mexico City for an entire month!
This weekend, we booked a little 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Mexico City! My pinterest board is already overflowing with places I cannot wait to visit when we arrive.
Why Mexico City? When I was Brody and Isla’s age, I spent 3 years living with my family in Mexico. Some of my very fondest memories of childhood happened there. I’ve always thought it would be special to go back when my kids were around the same age. The last time I visited Mexico City, I was 5 years old. It has been awhile to say the least!
We’ve spent the past few months dreaming and budgeting for an adventure like this and we’re so grateful to be able to work remotely where this is even a possibility. So we’re packing up our computers [and craft supplies :)] and heading to Mexico City in June!
If you’ve been and you have any recommendations—please send them my way! We’ll be sure to take you along on the adventure as it draws near. Now one question remains—-will we able to fit everything we need for a month in carryons!?
