My dear Luca - The day you were born was one of the most exciting of our lives. I wanted to take a few minutes to write it all down (the good + the bad) so we can all remember it for years to come.

Now that i’m on my third pregnancy, I feel like I have a really good grasp of what to pack in my hospital bag. If you are a momma prepping for labor, this post has a step by step guide for packing the essentials for your hospital stay.

Hospital bag, oh hospital bag. One of the many milestones of pregnancy. With Brody, I had our bags packed and ready by the time we hit the 3rd trimester. This time around it has been lingering on my to-do list for weeks. With our little one due in less than 2 weeks, we are finally packed and ready to go!

At some point in your pregnancy you may look down at your bump and realize that your uterus has a whole other job than just carrying around your little one. It has to help get that baby out of your body!  Moms and pushing may get all the glory in the birth scenes of movies but uterine contractions are the real star of the show (ok, you’re pretty awesome too).

So let’s give contractions a little bit of love and run through all the things you could possibly want to know about them.

There are a few days that will forever hold a special spot in my heart. High school proms with my husband, Auburn football games with some of my best friends, our wedding vows, snorkeling in Belize, sleeping in the Sahara desert under the stars, and the day Brody met Isla. The latter being a day that will be at the top of my list for a long time.
