My Dreams For My Children's Childhood & A Radio Flyer Giveaway!

One of my favorite childhood memories is running wild through our cul-de-sac with my three brothers and our neighbors. We chased each other up and down the street, from yard to yard, from long driveway to long driveway, pulling each other in our red wooden Radio Flyer Wagon.

It was the epitome of a carefree childhood. The stuff you watch in old movies. Imagination running rampant. We played town. Built forts. Gossiped about the mean old lady who lived on the street—terrified when we would have to retrieve a ball from her yard.

It is the kind of childhood I want my kids to have. It feels a lot harder to do this nowadays. Maybe it's the fact that we do not live in the friendliest neighborhood, or maybe it's my fear of letting my little one out of our sight for even a millisecond. Maybe it's technology that draws us indoors more often than necessary. Whatever it is, I am more determined than ever to create an environment where my kids have the same adventures I had. Where their childhood imagination runs wild and free.

Step 1 in making this happen: Get Brody a wooden wagon.

Step 2: Spend more time outside.

By now, I am sure you know my love of Radio Flyer wagons. The timeless symbol of childhood. The Radio Flyer Classic Walker Wagon was one of Brody's first (and favorite) toys. It's actually the only Christmas gift we bought him for his 1st Christmas. With Radio Flyer celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year, it was time for a big boy wagon!

Radio Flyer has a really cool Build-A-Wagon option on their site. From the type of tires to the print on the sunshade to accessories and add-ons. You build it and before you know it, it is on your doorstep.

I was so excited to try this out. JD and I laid in bed on our babymoon one evening customizing Brody's new wagon. Feeling nostalgic, I made sure to choose the classic red wooden base. We upgraded the wheels so we could easily pull the wagon through the rocky paths at some of our favorite joints. And then came the accessories! My favorite part, of course. Storage options, seat pads, a speaker system and a personalized nameplate made our wagon even more special!

We took the wagon out on its inaugural ride through the Riparian Preserve to look at the wild flowers and Brody could not stop talking about it. The "Wagon! Wagon! Wagon!" chants are a daily occurrence around here now. I can already tell this classic toy is going to be one Brody remembers from his childhood. The founder of Radio Flyer's goal was to "bring joy to every boy and every girl". A hundred years later, the brand I grew up loving is bringing smiles to my little one's face. I can't wait for the outdoor adventures this wagon takes us on.

In celebration of today being National Little Red Wagon Day the awesome team behind Radio Flyer is giving away one custom Build-A-Wagon to a Momma Society follower! That means one of you will win a code to build the wagon of your dreams, accessories and custom nameplate included!

Entering is super simple. Hop on over to Instagram and share your favorite childhood memory. Cheers to little red wagons!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Radio Flyer. The opinions and text are all mine.
