Brody’s Two Sweet Ice Cream Birthday

Remember this post a few weeks back where I shared our plans and inspiration for Brody’s 2nd birthday party? We had his ice cream bash a couple of weeks ago and as his birthday month is coming to a close, I am so excited to share his special day with you.

The awesome team at Gold Medal Gymnastics hosted the party for us. They made the party so fun for the toddlers and extra special for Brody. For parties, they clear out the entire gym so we had the whole place to ourselves. A toddlers dream! Brody and his friends could run free jumping on the trampolines, hanging from the bars, walking across the balance beam and the ever-so-popular rollercoaster race car. I need one of these things in my backyard!

The gymnasts hosting were awesome. Helping with everything from set- to serving the food and entertaining the kiddos. The little details like “Happy Birthday Brody” written in chalk down the long trampoline made it extra special. There were so many laughs and smiles from Brody and his friends as they ran and played through the gym. Do not be surprised if his 3rd birthday is here as well.

We decided on an ice cream party theme and tried to play in the phrase “Two Sweet” wherever possible. I printed labels that said “Two Sweet” and attached them to soda jerk hats in lieu of traditional party hats.

Since we overloaded the kids on sugar at the party, we did a non-edible party favor that went along with the theme. Using simple bath loofahs stuck in an ice cream cone and pairing them with a mini bottle of Babyganics bubble bath was the perfect solution. We placed them in gift bags and tied a custom favor tag on as a finishing touch. Setting them out on the table made an easy centerpiece.

I used this tutorial to create the “We All Scream For Ice Cream” statement wall and I LOVE how it came out. A little spray paint completely transformed the balloons. We used gorilla tape to secure the balloons on the wall. I cannot wait to repeat this little project for other events.

We lucked out because All in the Cards (Target Dollar Spot brand!), has a bunch of festive sprinkle themed paper products out right now. I used the roll of sprinkle wrapping paper as a color pallet for the party and it also made the perfect table runner down all of the tables. For the ice cream bar, they had the cutest ice cream cups, which ended up being the perfect size for toddlers. All of the party favor bags also came from this collection.

And can we talk about the cake? This sprinkle-covered goodness is one of the standard cakes from Cold Stone Creamery. Seriously! I thought about slaving over a cake, but picking one up was so much simpler. We had them leave the top empty so I could personalize it with a cake topper. Best of all, it tasted as good as it looked!

As much work as birthday parties can be, they always end up being one of my favorite days of the year. There is no such thing as too much celebration! Now onto dreaming up a theme for the next party!
