The Best Holiday Gifts for Babies 0-1

Holiday shopping is all fun and games until you’re trying to shop for someone that can’t talk! Babies can be a little all over the place when it comes to their interests and skills, so it can be a little tricky to pick a gift that they’ll enjoy. I’ve pulled together some of my favorite items for your little elf - toys that will engage their minds and senses, nursery items that are functional AND cute, and more!

One | Silicone Bib // Two | Ant Teether // Three | Baby + Toddler Swing // Four | Cardboard Book // Five | InnyBin // Six | Rattan Rattle // Seven | Wood Walker + Cart / Eight | Shape Maze // Nine | Dino Cape Shirt // Ten | Phone Teether // Eleven | Dino Utensils // Twelve | Snail Ball Popper // Thirteen | Baby Nest // Fourteen | Unicorn Phone // Fifteen | Pinhole Press Book // Sixteen | Foldable Rocking Horse // Seventeen | Wooden Gymnasium // Eighteen | Light Up Ball // Nineteen | Daisy Rattle

One // Rainbow Play Gym // I love these play gyms because you can get so much use out of them! They’re perfect for tummy time, a great place to rest your baby after eating or when you need a safe place to set them down, and as they get older they’ll be able to interact with the gym portion of the set up. This is a great gift if you have longevity in mind!

Two // Floral Play Mat // The neutral color scheme on this matt makes it perfect for any room. Plus, even though it’s floral the coloring is totally gender neutral so it would be great for any kiddo. This is another item that will grow with your little one and they’ll be able to use it for years.

Three // Wooden Shaper Sorter // This is such a classic toy. The wooden box acts as the organizer/storage system, so it’s easy to keep all of the pieces together. And since it’s made of solid wood, it’s safe for little teethers.

Four // Dimpl // Y’all have heard me rave about the Dimpl for as long as Isla has had one and it is my absolute favorite toy for kiddos in this age group. It’s small, travel friendly, and is great for developing motor skills.

Five // Organic Cotton Onsie // Sometimes the really little babies can feel impossible to shop for. “Need” items like this organic cotton onsie are perfect for your littlest family member because you know they’ll actually use it. This would also be great as a stocking stuffer!

Six // Car Activity Center // When we polled our community a few weeks ago, this car activity center was highly recommended by the Momma Society moms! I like that there’s a mirror built in so that baby can see themselves and you can keep an eye on the baby.

Seven // Silicone Teether // I absolutely love the Lou Lou Lollipop brand and have been using their products for years. The silicone on this teether is so thick and sturdy, you won’t have to worry about cracks or pieces breaking off. It’s also really easy to clean and sterilize for little mouths.

Eight // Swing // We have a very similar swing for Isla and she loves it. This swing can be used both indoors and outside and I recommend adding the cushion to the seat for maximum comfort.

Nine // Music and Activity Llama // “Play me a song, you’re the Llama Man!” – Billy Joel, probably. If it seems like a few of these toys are designed to pull double duty, that because they are. I love toys that have multiple uses and can grow with your kids, and this combo music + activity center will do just that. I also love that it’s made from sturdy wood that can hold its own against babies and toddlers as they start to sit and stand.

Ten // Slumberkin // Soft + snuggly are two of my favorite things for little babies and the Slumberkin is the perfect combination of the two. It can be used as a lovey and a toy. The flat design makes it great for travel and it is machine washable.

Eleven // Paris Swaddle // Isla has the Tokyo version of the swaddle from her first international trip and this Paris version will be one of the gifts for Baby R this year. I love carrying on this tradition with something that the kids will actually get use out of. Plus it makes a perfect keepsake for a baby book later down the line.

Twelve // Shaker Sensory Set // Chk-chk-chk-chk. Are those reindeer hoofs? Dancing elves? Snazzy snowflakes dancing all around? They can be all-of-the-above when you have shaker toys and an endless imagination. They’re the perfect size for little hands and since they’re solid wood they’re also okay for little mouths to chew on.

Thirteen // Standing Activity Center // Another classic toy that will grow with your little one. These are perfect for kiddos that can’t stand unassisted (or at all) and they tray is convenient for supervised snacks. The attached platform can be removed once your little one is tall enough to reach the floor, too.

Fourteen // Rainbow Abacus // (sold out, similar linked.) There seems to be a rainbow and llama theme on this years’ gift guide. I love the soft colors of the wooden beads and the rainbow shape is easy enough for small hands to maneuver while still presenting enough of a challenge.

One // Two // Three // Four // Five // Six // Seven // Eight // Nine // Ten // Eleven // Twelve A // Twelve B // Thirteen One | N is for Name Onesie | Cheerily | If you've been on my Instagram lately, then you've seen Brody and Isla rocking these! Eight | Dimpl | Fat Brain Toys | This is one of those "so simple it's genius" toys. The Dimpl has silicone domes that are meant to be pushed back and forth and is the perfect toy for little hands that are learning to push. P.S. Look out for a Dimpl giveaway on Instagram this week!

Nine | Toy Shopping Cart | Melissa & Doug | This is such a fun take on stand and play toy! The cart has a super sturdy metal frame and can help your little one work on balance, placing items, and can easily transition with them as they grow.

Ten | Sweet Shirley Doll | Anthropologie | This doll is so sweet and I love that it's made of cloth instead of plastic. The doll is made of a few different materials, so it's also a great piece to engage baby's senses.

Eleven | Pinhole Board Book | Pinhole Press | I love this Pinhole Press book! The pages are thick and easy for small hands to turn and each page can be customized. You can write a story or make a book of faces and names to help your little one's memory develop.

Twelve A | Dino Growth Chart | Wee Gallery | If your baby has to grow up, at least you can track their progress with this awesome canvas growth chart! This is a great keepsake item and can be passed down between siblings.

Twelve B | Paper & Cloth Safari Growth Chart | Anthropologie | If you're looking for a growth chart with a pop of color, this one is for you! It has beautiful illustrations of wild animals and can easily transition from a nursery to a toddler's room.

Thirteen | Smart Sight and Sound Projector | Project Nursery | Not only is this a combination sight and sound soother, but you can also control it via your smart phone! Stream baby's favorite songs or stories, adjust the volume, and adjust the brightness for images.

Thank you to Fat Brain Toys and Pinhole Press for collaborating on this post!

Christmas is going to be here before you know it, and I like to get my holiday shopping done early if I can! These are some of my favorite items for infants and you will want to scoop these up quickly because I keep finding the things I love are selling out.

Here is the roundup of the best gifts for a baby age 0-1:

One: Grey Bunny Soother Blanket | Nordstrom: I am not sure if there is anything better than baby snuggles. However, as much as I would love to snuggle Isla all-day it's just not possible. This snuggly bunny would make a great gift. It's super soft and your little one will love cuddling it. We use a similar one in the car and it helps keep our car-hating baby calm!

Two: Playful Toy Piano | Amazon: Music is one of the first things that your little one will be able to identify. Once babies find those musical toys -- watch out! They will love this piano so get ready now for many weekend concerts.

Three: Organic Cotton Mermaid Doll | The Tot: I love this whimsical mermaid doll. It’s plush so perfect for little ones to snuggle and play with.

Four: My First Book of Pictures | Amazon: This book was created by owners of a Montessori School. The board book features ten prevalent patterns that are presented first as single elements, then explained as they exist in a pattern. It’s a fun way to learn vocabulary.

Five: Merry-Go-Round Mobile | Nordstrom: This mobile is so fun. I love all the bright colors and the soft pattern. This is sure to make any baby happy.

Six: Glitter Moccasins | Target: These little moccasins are perfect for lounging around at home in style on the weekends. Plus, every girl needs a little glitter and you can't beat that price.

Seven: Muslin Bibs | The Tot: Babies can never have too many bibs so they make great gifts! The color will go with anything and is totally gender neautral!

Eight: Unicorn Rocker | Pottery Barn Kids: Just like the unicorn rocker I picked up for Isla's nursery plus you can personalize it. If unicorns aren't what you're going for, there are several other animal options!

Nine: Personalized First Toolbox | Etsy $34: This plush toolbox is perfect for little ones. It comes with five soft tools and a personalized tool box perfect for DIY projects with Dad. Brody would have loved this as a baby.

Ten: Baby Knitted Cat Hat | Old Navy: This sweet hat is adorable and functional. It will keep your little one’s head warm throughout the winter.

Eleven: Finger Puppet Tooth Brush Set | Uncommon Goods $30: Brushing baby teeth can be a challenge. Making teeth brushing fun is one way to help the process. This book with five finger brushes was created by two doctors and will definitely make teeth brushing fun.

Twelve: Lace Bib and Bloomers Set | Etsy: I love a mix of modern and classic when it comes to baby clothes. This bib and bloomers set is definitely classic and gorgeous!

Thirteen: Wooden Doll Pram | Etsy: I'm not sure if I have ever seen anything cuter than this wooden pram. This is perfect for a baby who is beginning to walk and will last long into childhood as the perfect doll stroller!

Fourteen: DockATot | Nordstrom: The DockATot is such a great product and it lasts through the first year. I love the print on this DockATot and your little one will love snuggling and playing in it! We use Isla's DockATot every single day.

Fifteen: Montessori Baby Bundle: 6-12 Months | Peuro Baby: I love wooden toys for babies and these are made from solid beech wood from sustainable forests in Germany. This baby bundle includes a lighthouse stacking game, grasping and teething toy, and a baby rattle. Your baby will love exploring sounds, grasping and working on fine motor skills. A must have!

Sixteen: Skip Hop Vibrant Village Smart Lights Activity Gym | Target: This is the ultimate activity gym for little one. It has three ways to play -- overhead play, tummy time, play mat. It’s interactive with more than 17 developmental activities including a musical light-up arch with volume control and two light modes. We have this and Isla loves exploring on it.

Seventeen: Inflatable Bouncy Cow Toy | Amazon: This bouncy toy is great for babies. It helps develop balance and coordination. I love the monochrome color too.

Eighteen: Busy Baby Activity Chair | Crate & Kids: This is a perfect little activity chair for babies. It has lots of little activities along the top and it is made of sturdy foam so it’s safe and comfortable. I love the neutral color and the quilted seat detail.
