Momma Society Mingle at Drybar Phoenix

At the beginning of every year, I pull out my planner and write up a big list of things I want to accomplish in the new year. From little things, like cleaning out my office, to big things that scare the heck out of me--I put it all out there in hopes that writing it down will make it happen. One of the scary things on the list this year was throwing an event for Momma Society. Our little Instagram community and blog have come to mean so much to me over the past year. I wanted to meet some local mommas. I wanted to celebrate this thing called motherhood. I wanted to kick back for a night together and get pampered.

And so it began. Planning an epic evening that would be intimate enough so we could mingle with other mommas, but fun enough that it was worth the time away from our families. In February I made plans with Drybar to rent out the salon for a night in April. To be honest, it scared the crap out of me. What if no one wanted to come? What if mommas came and had a terrible time? All those crazy thoughts and more went through my mind. But as the saying goes, you don't know if you don't try. So I  hunkered down and got to planning.

Last night was the big night and let me tell ya, it was one for the memory books. I am still on a high from from our evening. The kind of high you get when months of planning and excitement fall into place even more perfectly than you imagined.

The Momma Society Mingle completely sold out. Every momma who attended was so genuine, happy and beautiful inside and out. How did I get so lucky to spend an evening with these 20 amazing mommas?

If you aren't familiar with Drybar, it's a salon that just does blowouts--amazing blowouts to be precise. The kind that make your hair smell like heaven and your curls lasting for days.

The whole salon is pretty charming too. With great jams blasting in the background, The Notebook playing on the tv's, and little snacks and drinks, it really was the perfect night.

And it's not a trip to Drybar without a little #selfie!

A handful of awesome brands helped make this event possible. Some shared their new products at the event for the mommas to tryout and others contributed to the amazing swagbags that each momma went home with.

A huge thanks to each of these brands for supporting the first even Momma Society event:

Lugbug : An Ergonomic Handle For Your Infant Car Seat

Parasol : Subscription Diapers + Wipes for Modern Parenthood

And when you come home after a night like this, start scrolling through social media and read one of the mommas say she hasn't felt this pretty in a while, you know an event like this was so worth it. It's amazing what a little time out with other mommas can do for the soul. A big hug to every mom who came last night and made it so special. Getting to meet you and spend an evening together was such a pleasure! I think a Momma Society night at Drybar needs to become an annual tradition.

If you weren't able to make it to the event, keep an eye out on Instagram for a chance to win a swag bag of your own later this week.
